BEEHIVE NEEDLEWORKS
Needlework Samplers in an Early Style

elcome to all who pass this way,,,

We are delighted that you have stopped by the Beehive!

Beehive Needleworks grew out of a love of fabrics, fibers, and simple country antiques.  Creating schoolgirl samplers is our primary focus, especially those that are reminiscent of the 18th and early 19th centuries.  The embroideries of that period reflect a young woman's introduction to the needle arts, and provide an extraordinary glimpse of her daily life, and early education.

The needlework designs that you encounter here are inspired by needlewomen over the centuries.  We hope that you will find that each design tells a story, or reveals something about the character of the young lady who might have worked the sampler centuries ago.  Listen closely...what sort of story do you hear among the stitches?

Thank you most kindly for winging your way to Beehive Needleworks!  Should you have a query, please do feel free to contact us, we would love to hear from you!

Peaceful stitching,

~ Beehive Needleworks

great silk flowers grew from their needles."
