~ NEEDLEWORK SAMPLERS ~

Each chart packet includes a colour photograph of the completed needlework
project, stitching chart, stitch diagrams, floss list (with DMC thread
conversions), measurements for alternative fabric thread count, as well
as clear and detailed instructions for completing the sampler.





~ Seeds of Kindness Sampler ~

The Seeds of Kindness Sampler has been worked on 32 count, unbleached linen, with threads from Weeks Dye Works.  The stitch techniques used to work the sampler include Cross Stitch (one over one, and two over two), and Back Stitch.  It has a
stitch count of
92 x 101, and a design area of approximately 5 3/4" x 6 3/8". 

     The verse on the sampler reads: 
   "He who sows the seeds of kindness enjoys a bountiful harvest."
The project is suitable for all skill levels.   The splendid hand-grained frame has been created by Valley House Primitives.



~ Zenna
Hartwicke Sampler ~

The Zenna Hartwicke Sampler has been worked on 28 count, unbleached linen.  Using threads from The Gentle Art, the sampler is worked entirely in cross stitch, making it suitable to all skill levels.  A practice sampler, the young lady's work is
a study of letters and numbers, separated by a variety of dividing bands.  Primitive and rather naive in appearance, this sampler has a stitch count of
173 x 118, and a design area of approximately 12 3/8" x 9 5/8". 
Valley House Primitives created the lovely hand-grained frame.



~ Eliza Bromley Sampler ~

Eliza Bromley's Sampler
features the flora, fauna, and sentiment of her beloved woodland.  It has been worked on 32 count, unbleached linen, using over-dyed threads from Weeks Dye Works.  The stitch count is 160 x 134, with the design area measuring approximately
10" x 8 3/8".
  The sampler is worked entirely in Cross Stitch, and is suitable for all skill levels.  Valley House Primitives created the gorgeous hand-grained frame.



~ Zabeth
Cottingill Sampler ~

The Zabeth Cottingill Sampler has been worked on 32 count, hand-dyed linen.  Composed of Springtime motifs, the sampler is worked entirely in Cross Stitch with threads from Weeks Dye Works.
The stitch count is 132 x 91, with the design area measuring approximately 8 1/4" x 5 3/4".  In in attempt to give Zabeth's sampler a naive appearance, the linen has been wrinkled, and positioned in a slightly wonky manner within the frame. This needlework project is suitable for all skill levels.  The splendid, hand-grained frame was created by Valley House Primitives.



~ Blue Tulip Sampler ~

The Blue Tulip Sampler has been worked on 32 count, "Examplar" linen from Lakeside Linens.  This sampler, sprinkled with whimsical motifs, is worked entirely in Cross Stitch with threads from DMC.  The finished sampler has a stitch count of 86 x 86, and is suitable for
all skill levels.  The lovely hand-grained frame is from Valley House Primitives.



~ Annie Ellsworth Sampler ~

The Annie Ellsworth Sampler has been worked on 28 count, unbleached linen.  The stitches used in the completion of the sampler include Cross Stitch and Algerian Eye (lots of them).  The thread used is from DMC, and the stitch count is 93 x 98. 
Suitable for all skill levels. The beautiful hand-grained frame is by Valley House Primitives.



~ Hannah Wright Sampler ~

The Hannah Wright Sampler has been worked on 28 count, hand-dyed linen.  Especially suited for folks who fancy a primitive look, this sampler is worked entirely in Cross Stitch, with hand-dyed threads from The Gentle Art.  The finished sampler has a stitch count of 101 x 118, and is suitable for
all skill levels.  Valley House Primitives created the gorgeous hand-grained frame.



~ Patience Littlewith Sampler ~

The Patience Littlewith Sampler has been worked on 28 count, unbleached linen.  The threads used for the sampler are from The Gentle Art, and is worked entirely in Cross Stitch.  The finished sampler has a stitch count of 77 x 109, and has been left unframed.  Clearly, Mistress Patience was delighted to finally be finished with her needlework project. 
Suitable for all skill levels.

"The thread is cut
My work is done"



~ Polly Quigley Sampler ~

The Polly Quigley Sampler has been worked on 32 count, unbleached linen, using hand-dyed cotton floss from Weeks Dye Works.  It is worked entirely in Cross Stitch, with a stitch count of 124 x 218. 
Suitable for all skill levels.
The verse on the sampler reads:

"How great the blessing
And how vast the art,
To live on little,
With a thankful heart."



~ Felicity Archer Sampler ~

The Felicity Archer Sampler has been worked on 36 count, unbleached linen.  The silk thread used has been hand-dyed from Olde Willow Stitchery Threads, and is stitched one over two, in two colours of silk.  The sampler is worked entirely in Cross Stitch, with a stitch count of 126 x 138. 
Suitable for all skill levels.



~ Elizabeth Ann  Bremer Sampler ~

The Elizabeth Bremer Sampler has been worked on 28 count, unbleached linen, using hand-dyed floss from Weeks Dye Works.  The stitches used include Cross Stitch, Algerian Eye, Four-sided Stitch, and Rococo (Queen's) Stitch.  The stitch count for the project is 101 x 145.  Suitable for intermediate, or patient beginning needleworkers willing to learn new stitches.  Clear stitch diagrams are included, so do not fret!



~ Lydia Doud Sampler ~

The Lydia Doud Sampler is worked on hand-dyed, unevenweave linen (approximately 36w/30 h), giving the appearance of early linen.  The floss used is over-dyed from Weeks Dye Works.  Should you choose to use an alternative linen, instructions for adapting the pattern is included.  The stitches used to complete the sampler include Cross Stitch and Algerian Eye.  The sampler has been left unframed for a primitive appearance.  The stitch count is 89 x 151. 
Suitable for all skill levels.



~ Sarah Jane Bingley Sampler ~

The Sarah Jane Bingley Sampler has been worked entirely in Cross Stitch, on
30 count, vanilla-coloured linen.  The cotton floss used is from Weeks Dye Works.  The stitch count of the sampler is 119 x 152. 
Suitable for all skill levels.
The verse reads:
"Be not weary
in well doing."





~ Gift to a Friend Sampler ~

The Gift to a Friend Sampler has been worked on 32 count, unbleached linen.  Using floss from DMC, the piece is worked entirely in Cross Stitch.  The stitch count is 83 x 92, and is
suitable for all skill levels. 





~ Dorcus Whitby Sampler ~

The Dorcus Whitby Sampler has been worked on 32 count, ivory-coloured linen.  The stitches used include Cross Stitch and Algerian Eye, with the floss from The Gentle Art.  The stitch count is
94 x 101. 
Suitable for all skill levels.



~ Happy Christmas Sampler ~

The Happy Christmas Sampler has been worked on 32 count, ivory-coloured linen, using floss from The Gentle Art.  The stitches used include Cross Stitch and French Knot.  The stitch count is 68 x 81.

~ C.M.K. 1811 Sampler ~

The C.M.K. Sampler, is a sweet and simple project worked on 32 count, ivory-coloured linen, using floss from The Gentle Art.  Worked entirely in Cross Stitch, it has a stitch count of 109 x 72.  A sweet and  simple sampler, this needlework project is perfect for a beginning needleworker.
